City permitted for 140-unit mixed-use building in East Williamsburg
The Department of Housing Preservation and Development, on June 22, was given a permit for construction of a 140-unit, 126,301-square-foot residential building at 100 Throop Avenue in East Williamsburg. Rona Reodica of HPD filed the plans.
The plans, pre-filed on September 9, 2021, call for the construction of an 85-foot tall, eight-story, mixed-use building. The building will be constructed on nine tax lots that will be consolidated under lot 25.

The project is described in the filings as: application filed to construct new eight-story mixed-use building. Residential units to be part of the affordable housing program.
According to the plans, the ground floor will have community space, a recreation room, storage space, and one dwelling unit. Floors two through six will each have 22 dwelling units per floor, the seventh floor will have 21 dwelling units, and the eighth floor will have eight dwelling units and indoor and outdoor recreation spaces.
