Permit for $13.3M exterior rehab of NYC hospital in Bed-Stuy

The New York City Health + Hospitals, on March 3, was given a permit for a $13.3 million rehabilitation of a building’s exterior at 689 New York Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant. The building is part of the Kings County Hospital Center.

The plans, pre-filed on April 30, 2020, call for a rehab of the facade and roof of the 81-foot tall, nine-story building.

The project is described in the filings as: Kings County Hospital Center, building ‘T’, exterior repairs and restoration to facade and roof as per the plans filed including window replacement and guardrail installation The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $13,300,000.

SUPERSTRUCTURES Engineers + Architects is the architect.

They were the only plans filed at the building last year, and the first plans since 2016.
