City permitted for $10M rehab of UWS school

The New York City School Construction Authority, on April 21, was given a permit for a $10 million rehabilitation of a school building at 160 West 78th Street in the Upper West Side.

The plans, pre-filed on March 27, 2019, call for work on the cellar, basement, roof, and all floors of the 42-foot tall, three-story building.

The project is described in the filings as: M087-installation of two new boilers, burner control panel, duplex vacuum pumps, boiler feed water tank, pumps, steam control valves, motorized dampers. Replacement of pneumatic thermostats, steam traps and control valves. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $10,000,000.

The NYC SCA is also listed as the architect.
