City finishes $11.2M rehab of Mott Haven rental
The New York City Housing Authority, on November 25, formally completed a $11.2 million rehabilitation of a residential building at 400 Brook Avenue in Mott Haven, which is part of the Betances development. The building is part of the Betances Houses, which are owned by NYCHA but managed by Wavecrest Management and MDG Construction.
The plans, pre-filed on October 16, 2018, call for a rehab of roof of the 200-foot tall, 20-story building.
The project is described in the filings as: application filed for minor alterations to apartments including cabinet and door replacements, lobby finishes, plumbing fixture replacement, exhaust replacements, window replacement, and new landscaping. No change in use, egress or occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $11,208,500.00.
Newman Design Group was the architect for the project.
No rehab plans have been filed at the building since June of 2019.
