City files plans for $8.5M rehab of Chinatown school

New York City School Construction Authority, on May 6, filed a permit application for an $8.5 million rehabilitation of the exterior of a school building at 40 Division Street in Chinatown.

The plans call for work on roof, all floors, and space outside of the 36-foot tall, three-story building.

The project is described in the filings as: M124-replacement of roof, existing windows and guards. New parapet mounted guard rails. Replace louvers, exterior doors and bulkhead doors. Masonry repair and interior repairs. New roof access ladders. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $8,500,000.

The NYC SCA is also the architect listed.
