City files plans for 69K sf school in Bay Ridge, site bought for $25M
New York City School Construction Authority, on January 7, filed a permit application for construction of a 69,160-square-foot school building at 650 86th Street in Bay Ridge.
The plans call for the construction of a 87-foot tall, five-story, building.
The project is described in the filings as: K 322 — construction of a five-story educational structure with cellar, bulk head roof for mechanical equipment and photo voltaic roof panels for K 322 along 86th street with block 6056 with merged lots 12 and 15 and assigned lot 12. Property is not on a flood zone. Zoning analysis and egress calculations filed herewith.
The building’s cellar will have office and storage space, per the plans. The ground floor will have storage, office space, a kitchen, servery, and cafeteria. The second floor will have classrooms, offices, and a lunch room. Floors three and four will also have classrooms, offices and storage space. The fifth floor will have office and storage space as well as a gymnasium.
The NYS SCA is listed as the architect of record.
The property was acquired for $25 million on June 25, 2019 from Allied Properties. Allied Properties purchased the property in 2018 for $12.2 million from Nathan’s Famous.
According to a local report, it is among the most expensive properties purchased by the SCA.
