City files plans for $50M in rehabs of city schools

The New York City School Construction Authority, on April 26, filed a permit application for a $23 million exterior rehabilitation of a building at 3710 Barnes Avenue in Williamsbridge, the Bronx.

The plans call for a rehab of the cellar, roof, and all floors of the 53-foot tall, three-story building.

The project is described in the filings as: X113 — replacement of roof including bulkheads. Replace windows and sealant of doors, windows and louvers. Masonry restoration of parapets. Repair concrete. Replace a portion of the window sills. Paint and plaster. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $23,000,000.

On the same day, the NYC SCA filed a permit application for a $15 million exterior rehab of a building at 166-01 116th Avenue in Queens.

The plans call for a rehab of cellar, roof, and all floors of the 50-foot tall, three-story building.

The project is described in the filings as: total roof replacement except for bulkheads stairs. Masonry repair and repointing throughout including interior of parapets. Select parapet replacement and crack replacement. Excavation at foundation walls to provide flood elimination. Interior plaster repair and painting. Perimeter fencing. Total windows and doors replacement. As per plans filed The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $15,000,000.

On April 29, filed a permit application for a $6 million project to replace oil boilers with gas in a building at 545 Willoughby Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

The plans call for work on the cellar, roof, and all floors of the 33-foot tall, three-story building.

The project is described in the filings as: remove two existing oil fired boilers with all associated piping, breeching and climate controls, and replace with two new gas fired boilers with all associated piping, breeching, climate controls, new chimney liner at roof. Chemical feed system, electric unit heater, vacuum condensate pump. As per plans filed herewith. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $6,000,000.

On April 28, the NYC SCA filed a permit application for a $5.8 million exterior rehab of a building at 3-65 Beach 56th Street in Arverne.

The plans call for work on the roof and all floors of the 55-foot tall, four-story building.

The project is described in the filings as: the general items of work are as follows; roof replacement in its entirety. Including roof drains and new roof flashing. Remedial work of parapets, coping repair work, flashing and replacement of all expansion joints. Masonry repairs including brick replacement, repointing and repairs to exiting exterior sidewalk and pavements. Window steel lintel. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $5,827,300.
