City files plans for $16.8M in rehabs of three schools in Queens, Brooklyn and Manhattan
The New York City School Construction Authority, on April 8 and April 9, filed three permit applications for $16.8 million in rehabilitations of school buildings at 138-30 Lafayette Street in Ozone Park, Queens; 820 Hancock Street in Ocean Hill, Brooklyn; and 134 West 122nd Street in Central Harlem, Manhattan.
The first plans, pre-filed on April 8, 2021, call for the replacement of oil boilers with gas in the 45-foot-tall, three-story building at 138-30 Lafayette Street in Ozone Park.
The project is described in the filings as: Q202-replace oil boilers with new gas-fired boilers. New exhaust fans, vacuum pumps, motorized dampers. New control valve assembly and steam trap assembly. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $8,000,000.
The NYC SCA is also listed as the architect.

The second plans, pre-filed on April 9, 2021, call for removal of boilers in the 41-foot-tall, four-story building at 820 Hancock Street in Ocean Hill.
The project is described in the filings as: K005-removal of two boilers. Installation of heat pump air handler, outdoor air system, new indoor/outdoor split heat pump, DDC thermostats and controls. New motorized dampers and exhaust ducts. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $6,500,000.

The third plans, pre-filed on April 9, 2021, call for an exterior rehab of the 30-foot tall, three-story building at 134 West 122nd Street in Central Harlem.
The project is described in the filings as: exterior masonry repairs, exterior door replacements, window guard replacements and interior finishes repairs at existing school building The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $2,260,000.
