City files plans 190-unit affordable building in Bed-Stuy

The New York City Housing Authority, on April 4, filed a permit application for construction of a 190-unit, 141,582-square-foot mixed-use building at 57 Marcus Garvey Boulevard in Bedford-Stuyvesant. Matthew Charney filed the plans.

The plans call for the construction of a 106-foot tall, 10-story mixed-use building, and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under number B00495212. The building will occupy two tax lots.

The project is described in the filing as: herewith filing for the construction of a 10-story new building for affordable independent residence for seniors as per plans.

Per the plans, the ground floor of the building will have a multi-purpose room. The second floor will have a library, laundry room, gym, and 18 dwelling units. Floors three through five will each have 24 dwelling units per floor, floors six through eight will each have 22 dwelling units per floor, the ninth floor will have 18 dwelling units and a laundry room, and the 10th floor will have 16 dwelling units.

Studio Daniel Libeskind is listed as the architect.
