City files plans for $12M in rehabs for Bronx, Queens, schools
The New York City School Construction Authority, on April 22, filed permit applications for $12 million in rehabilitations of school buildings at 1155 Cromwell Avenue in the Bronx and 170-45 84th Avenue in Jamaica Hills, Queens.
The first plans call for an exterior rehab of a 46-foot tall, three-story building at 1155 Cromwell Avenue.
The project is described in the filings as: X114 — replacement of roof. Masonry, facade and face brick repair and repointing. New steel lintels and roof barrier. Replacement of concrete slab. New concrete pad and waterproofing membrane. No change to egress, use or occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $6 million.
The NYC SCA was also listed as the architect.

On the same day, the NYC SCA filed a permit application for a $6 million rehab of a school building at 170-45 84th Avenue in Jamaica Hills.
The plans call for an exterior rehab of the 32-foot tall, two-story building.
The project is described in the filings as: masonry and brick repair and replacement. Installation of new steel to support exterior masonry. Interior plaster and paint finish repairs. Flood elimination comprising of the installation of a waterproofing membrane below grade of cellar walls. As per plans filed herewith. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $6,000,000.
Once again, the NYC SCA was also listed as the architect.
