City files plans for $10M project to replace boilers in Tremont school

NYC School Construction Authority, on November 1, filed a permit application for a $10 million project to replace oil boilers in a school building at 2055 Mapes Avenue in Tremont.

The plans call for work in the basement and all floors of the 43-foot tall, four-story building.

The project is described in the filings as: remove two existing oil fired boilers with all associated piping, breeching and climate controls, with steam traps and valves, throughout school and replace with two new oil fired boilers with all new climate controls, piping and breeching, provide one new stainless steel liner on roof chimney. Clean out existing 10,000 gallons fuel oil tanks with new piping. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $10,000,000.

The NYC SCA is listed as the architect.
