City files plans for 108K sf school in Inwood
The New York City School Construction Authority, on October 22, filed a permit application for construction of a 108,152-square-foot school building at 3761 10th Avenue in Inwood, in Manhattan.
The plans call for the construction of the sixth new building, and second school, in Inwood so far this year.
The city acquired the property in late July from Paul Gagliardi for $16 million. In a separate transaction, the city also acquired 3769 10th Avenue from Paul Gagliardi for $7.6 million.
The plans call for the construction of an 89-foot tall, six-story building.
The project is described in the filings as: M502 : filed herewith for the construction of a six-story educational structure with entrance along 10th Avenue on block: 2198 lot 1 ( merged lot 1 and 5 ). Zoning and egress analysis also filed herewith. The premises is on a flood zone district under FEMA map 3604970081. The building has no cellar.
Per the plans, the ground floor of the building will have a kitchen, cafeteria, and office space. Floors two through four will all have classroom and office space. The fifth floor will have classrooms, offices, a library, and an exercise area. The sixth floor will have classrooms and storage space.
The NYC SCA is also listed as the architect.
