City files plans for 105-unit mixed-use building in Highbridge

New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, on December 16, filed a permit application for construction of a 105-unit, 74,267-square-foot mixed-use building at 87 West 169th Street in Highbridge.

The plans call for the construction of a 95-foot tall, nine-story mixed-use building.

The project is described in the filings as: construct new nine-story mixed-use building as per plans filed.

According to the plans, the cellar of the building will have storage space, a recreation area, lockers, and a laundry room. The ground floor will have a clinic, several offices, storage space, and indoor and outdoor recreation space. The second floor will have 13 dwelling units, floors three through seven will each have 14 dwelling units per floor, and the eighth and ninth floors will each have 11 dwelling units, lounges, and an eighth floor recreation room.

No demolition plans have been filed.

Shakespeare Gordon Vlado Architects wiil design the building.

This is the second large Highbridge development planned by the city agency this month. On December 2, the NYC HPD filed plans for 73,500-square-foot affordable housing development for seniors at 97 West 169th Street in the Highbridge
