The Chetrit Group, on April 20, filed a permit application for a $2.9 million renovation of the office buildings 850 Third Avenue in Plaza District.
The plans call for work in the 231-foot tall, 20-story building on floors two, four through eight and 10 and 11.
The project is described in the filings as: non-structural demo as shown on plans. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $2,901,060.
Jacob Chetrit and sons Michael and Simon acquired the building for $422 million on January 9, 2019 from the Chinese insurance firm HNA Group, which was facing regulatory scrutiny at the time and sold the building for less than the $463 million it bought it for in 2016 with MHP Real Estate Services.
