Carthage Real Estate Advisors permitted for 149-unit resi building in Central Harlem
Carthage Real Estate Advisors, on February 11, was given a permit for construction of a 149-unit, 186,990-square-foot residential building at 224 West 124th Street in Central Harlem. Ed Poteat, president of Carthage Real Estate Advisors, filed the plans. The permit was a new building permit, the developer received foundation permits on August 14, 2020. The project got a $79 million construction loan from Bank Leumi last month.
The developer is also planning a 205-foot tall, 19-story, 183-unit, 148,098-square-foot residential building at 212 West 124th Street.
The plans at 224 West 124th Street, pre-filed on July 2, 2018, call for the construction of a 190-foot tall, 18-story residential building.
The project is described in the filings as: proposed 18-story residential development as per plans.
The ground floor of the building will have a lobby, recreation space, and four dwelling units, according to the plans. Floors two through 13 will each have 11 dwelling units per floor, floors 14 and 15 will each have eight dwelling units per floor, floors 16 and 17 will each have six dwelling units per floor, while the 18th floor will have four dwelling units per floor.
Fischer + Makooi Architects is listed as the architect.
No demolition plans have been filed.

Carthage Advisors bought the property for $27.8 million back in 2017 after a legal feud with Abyssinian Development Corp. caused negotiations to drag for multiple years.
