Carmel Partners files demo plans at Lenox Hill site, ahead of 94-unit development

Carmel Partners, on January 26, filed two permit applications for the demolition of two buildings at 1487 1st Avenue and 356 East 78th Street in Lenox Hill. Matthew Feldman, senior VP of development with the firm, filed the plans.

Just two days prior, the developer filed plans for the construction of a 94-unit, 195,299-square-foot mixed-use building at 1487 First Avenue. The developer acquired the properties for $73.5 million on January 6, 2022.

These are the first and second demolition plans filed in the neighborhood in the previous 12 months.

The first plans call for the demolition of a four-story, 7,937-square-foot, mixed-use building at 1487 1st Avenue.
