Camber Property Group files plans for 181-unit residential building in Fordham
Rick Gropper’s Camber Property Group, on August 26, filed a permit application for construction of a 181-unit, 111,423-square-foot residential building at 2000 Valentine Avenue in Fordham. The property has an alternate address of 1978 Valentine Avenue.
The plans call for the construction of a 104-foot tall, 11-story residential building.
The project is described in the filings as: filing to erect an 11-story community facility building (supportive housing).
The plans state the basement of the building will have parking for 10 cars. The Schedule A indicates the building will be broken into an east and west wing, both of which will have their own lobby. The ground floor of the building will have a non-profit institution with sleeping accommodations. The building will also have an exercise room, recreation room, and community room. The 181 supportive housing units will range from floors one through 11.
Camber Property Group acquired the property as part of an eight-building portfolio containing over 1,270 affordable units in the Mitchell-Lama program in January of this year.
Curtis & Ginsberg Architects is the architect named on the filing.
Demolition plans have yet to be filed.
Camber is currently working on another large Bronx development as well. In May, the firm filed a permit application for construction of a 117-unit, 78,418-square-foot residential building at 1860 Lafayette Avenue in Soundview.
