Amalgamated Warbasse Houses files plans for a $5.9M rehab of a building in Coney Island

Amalgamated Warbasse Houses, on August 27, filed a permit application for a $5.9 million rehabilitation of a building at 525 Neptune Avenue in Coney Island.

The plans call for a rehab of the roof and floors one through 24 of the 174-unit, 210-foot tall, 24-story, building.

The project is described in the filings as: general construction related to mechanical upgrade including the renovation of existing pump room with installation of new platform with metal stair on first, minor ceiling work on first to the 24th, and minor roof/flashing work as per plans. No change in use, egress, or occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $5,900,000.

These are the first renovation plans filed at the location since 2015, when A2 plans were filed to install HVAC equipment in the building.
