CalPERS files plans for $10.7M build-out for BNP Paribas in Midtown West
California Public Employees’ Retirement System, on October 25, filed plans for a $10.7 million build-out for the French international banking group, BNP Paribas, at 787 Seventh Avenue in Midtown West, Manhattan. The building is known as the AXA Equitable Building.
The California pension fund CalPERS purchased the 1.7 million square foot office building from AXA Financial for $1.9 billion back in 2016.
There have been 41 alteration plans calling for a total of $54.5 million of work filed at the building so far this year. These are the most expensive of the plans.
The plans call for work on floors seven and eight of the 720-foot-tall, 51-story building and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number M00583998.
The project is described in the filing as: Interior gut demolition; Installation of new partitions, doors, floor finishes and suspended ceilings on the seventh and eighth floors as per plans (BNPP – NYC HQ.) No change to use, egress or occupancy.
The architect listed is Gensler.
