Brookfield receives permits for $41M rehab of multiple floors at 666 Fifth Avenue

Brookfield Properties, on July 21, was given a permit for a $41.4 million rehabilitation of multiple floors at 666 Fifth Avenue in the Plaza District. The permit comes days after Brookfield was given its initial earthwork permits to begin the renovation.

The plans, pre-filed on June 28, 2019, call for a rehab of the sub-cellar, cellar, mezzanine, penthouse, and all 40 floors of the 425-foot tall, 40-story, building.

The project is described in the filings as: application filed for core building upgrades. Demolish and construct interior non-bearing partitions and finishes where indicated in commercial space, construct new core bathrooms and minor alterations where indicated. No change in use, egress or occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $41.353 million.

Last month, on June 4, Brookfield received a permit for a $9.9 million rehab of the commercial space located in the building.
