Brookfield Properties files plans for a $13M rehab of the Grace Building

Brookfield Properties, on May 5, filed a permit application for a $13.2 million rehab of five floors of the Grace Building at 1114 Avenue of the Americas.

The plans call for the renovation of floors one, two, eight, nine and 10, in the 591-foot tall, 47-story, building.

The project is described in the filings as: alteration type 2 filed for interior renovation on existing open office space. No change of use, egress and occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $13,158,918.

The building gets its name from the Columbia-based, chemical business company W.R. Grace, which commissioned its construction in the early 1970s

HLW Architects will be in charge of the project.
