NYC School Construction Authority files plans for a $20M rehab of Highbridge school building

NYC School Construction Authority, on May 5, filed a permit application for a $20.4 million renovation of eight floors of a school building at 40 West Tremont Avenue in Highbridge, which is home to Bronx School of Young Learners and PS 306.

The plans call for a renovation of the CEL, ROF, OSP, and floors one through five of the 61-foot tall, 5-story, school building.

The project is described in the filings as: replacement of roofs including drains and partial storm piping. Replacement of exterior brick veneer. Replacement of expansion joints. Replacement of existing skylights. Provide waterproofing of cellar areas. Replacement of portions of parapets. Patching of interior surfaces. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $20,360,514.
