Boston Properties finishes $7.5M in rehabs of former Citicorp Center
Boston Properties, on January 20, formally completed two rehabilitation projects, totaling $7.5 million, of the former Citicorp Center at 601 Lexington Avenue in Plaza District. Robert Schubert, senior VP of construction for Boston Properties, filed both of the plans.
The first plans, pre-filed on June 12, 2019, call for a rehab of floors 36 and 37 of the 810-foot tall, 59-story building.
The project is described in the filings as: interior renovations as per plans filed herewith. No change to use, egress, or occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $4,500,000.
SHoP Architects, based in Lower Manhattan, is listed as the architect on the filing.
The Landmarks Preservation Commission designated the building as a NYC landmark in 2016.

On the same day, the developer formally completed a $3 million rehab of an additional floor of the building.
The plans, pre-filed on February 10, 2020, call for a rehab of the 21st floor of the 810-foot tall, 59-story building.
The project is described in the filings as: interior renovations and energy filing as per plans filed herewith. No change to use, egress or occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $3,039,017.
