Binyamin Beitel, on October, 27 was issued a temporary certificate of occupancy for construction of a 25,366-square-foot office building at 5501 New Utrecht Avenue in Kensington, Brooklyn.

The plans were originally filed by Yosef Streicher, before Beitel purchased the property for just over $3 million in the summer of 2018.

The plans, pre-filed on July 8, 2016, call for the construction of a 81-foot tall, eight-story office building. The time from pre-file to TCO was four years and three months.

The project is described in the filings as: proposed eight-story and cellar, community facility and commercial building.

The cellar of the building has an office, according to the plans. The ground floor has retail space and a community lobby. Floors two and three are occupied by a day care, floors four and five are occupied by a healthcare facility, and floors six through eight are occupied by a nonprofit facility.

M Architecture was responsible for the building’s design.
