Atlas Hospitality files plans Times Square demo ahead of 401-key hotel plans

Atlas Hospitality, on September 15, filed a permit application for the demolition of a building at 711 Seventh Avenue in Times Square. The building is 30,328 square feet, according to city records.

These are only the second demolition plans filed in Times Square this year. The other demo plans, at 250 West 49th Street, were filed by the Hakimian Organization on August 26 for a 57,606-square-foot building.

On April 28, the developer filed a permit application for construction of a 401-key, 135,363-square-foot hotel building at the property.

Per the plans, the ground floor of the building will have two retail spaces, reception, an office and luggage area, a hotel lobby, and a loading dock. Floors two through 16 will each have 14 hotel rooms per floor, floors 17 through 21 will each have 16 hotel rooms per floor, and floors 22 through 30 will each have 14 hotel rooms per floor. The 31st floor will have a rooftop bar and lounge with an outdoor terrace. The 32nd floor will house mechanical equipment.

The estimated job cost is $10,000,000.

These plans call for the demolition of a four-story building.
