Arden Group files plans for demo of 4650 Broadway, ahead of large mixed-use development
Arden Group, on June 3, filed a permit application for the demolition of a building at 4650 Broadway in Washington Heights, in Upper Manhattan.
While no plans have been officially filled, the developer is reportedly planing to construct a 300,000-square-foot mixed-use building at the site with a mix of market-rate and affordable rentals.
Arden was originally planning to purchase the building as part of a joint venture with Hello Living. However, the partnership dissolved with both developers filing lawsuits against one another.
Arden Group then decided to purchase the site on its own for $54 million on November 12, 2019.
The plans, pre-filed on June 3, 2021, call for the demolition of a two-story building.
The project is described in the filings as: full demolition of two-story structure, using hand held and mechanical means to assist on all floors.
