Apex Investments permitted for 97-key hotel in Greenpoint, first hotel in the neighborhood since 2015
Apex Investments, on December 23, was given a permit for construction of a 97-key, 34,685-square-foot hotel at 83 Apollo Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
There were 20 new building plans filed in the neighborhood last year. These plans were the only hotel (R-1) plans. Perhaps more significantly, these were the first hotel plans filed in the neighborhood since 2015. This year there have been seven new building plans filed in Greenpoint.
The plans, pre-filed on December 23, 2020, call for the construction of a 46-foot tall, four-story hotel.
The firm purchased the property for $10.6 million the same week the new building plans were filed. The deal closed on December 16, 2020, and was recorded on December 24, 2020.
The project is described in the filings as: herewith filing four-story new residential building (R-1: transient hotel).
Per the plans, the ground floor will have a lobby, office space, storage space, conference rooms, a staff lounge, and a cafeteria. The second floor will have 31 rooms, meeting rooms, and offices. Floors three and four will have 33 rooms per floor, offices, and the fourth floor will have a lounge.
Think! Architecture + Design PLLC will be in charge of the design.
