Laboz family’s UAL demolishes building in Downtown Brooklyn, part of multi-building assemblage
The Laboz family’s United American Land, on December 7, completed the demolition of a building at 459 Fulton Street in Downtown Brooklyn. The building is one of at least 12 which the Laboz family has spent $75.8 million acquiring since 1996.
The plans, pre-filed on January 30, 2020, call for the demolition of a four-story building. The owner representative on the filing was Albert Laboz. Jeff Sutton sold this building to the Laboz family in 2018 as part of a four-building sale for $22 million.
The project is described in the filings as: demolition of a four-story building.
No new building plans have been filed yet at the property. A PincusCo report from 2019 found that the assemblage would allow for 376,670-square-feet of development on the block bounded by Fulton, Jay, Willoughby and Lawrence streets.
It is unclear if the family intends to move forward with a large development or a series of stand-alone retail assets.
The property was acquired with two other properties for $15 million on September 21, 2018.

Correction: an earlier version of this story incorrectly identified the neighborhood as Brooklyn Heights. The correct neighborhood is Downtown Brooklyn.
