ABCNY receives TCO for 89-key hotel in Bed-Stuy
ABCNY, on December 29, was issued a temporary certificate of occupancy for construction of an 89-key, 37,372-square-foot hotel at 1200 Broadway in Bedford-Stuyvesant. The building, which is next to the boarder of Bushwick, is known as the Holiday Inn Express Brooklyn – Bushwick.
According to a report, the building is part of a 2,000-room project in a mix of big-brand and boutique hotels planned by the developer.
The plans, pre-filed on December 11, 2015, call for the construction of a 65-foot tall, six-story hotel. The time from pre-file to TCO was five years and one month. The owner representative on the filing was Moris Yero-Shalmi.
The project is described in the filings as: proposed six-story new building hotel.
The building’s cellar has an exercise room, office space, and laundry, per the plans. The ground floor has retail space, a lobby, dining, business room, and nine rooms. Floors two through six each have 16 rooms per floor.
The plans make no mention of parking, according to Bed-Stuy North rezoning in 2012, parking isn’t required for hotels there.
ARC Architecture + Design designed the building.
The property was acquired with 3 other properties for $2.1 million on January 31, 2014.
