$6M multi-floor rehab of Sam Burt Houses completed in Coney Island
On May 4, a $6 million rehabilitation was formally completed at a residential building known as the Sam Burt Houses at 2675 West 36th Street in Coney Island. Cleopatra Monroe filed the plans. The Sam Burt Houses is a co-op built in the 1960s under a limited-equity model.
The plans, pre-filed on September 28, 2016, call for a rehab of the roof, all 13 floors, and space outside of the 130-foot tall, 13-story building.
The project is described in the filings as: modification to doors, walls, floors. Roof, structural reinforcements, mechanical components, new generator platform and new trench for the storm resiliency as per plans submitted herewith. No change in egress or occupancy under this application. This is a sandy compliance application 021243. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $6,000,001.
