67K sf charter school planned in Highbridge
Tamela Sweeris through the company Highbridge Facilities LLC, on December 18, filed a permit application for construction of a 67,916-square-foot school building at 1401 Inwood Avenue in Highbridge, the Bronx. The school will be part of the group of Family Life Academy Charter Schools (FLACS), network of public charter schools in the South Bronx.
The plans call for the construction of an 85-foot-tall, six-story building.
The project is described in the filings as: proposed new six-story building for Family Life Academy Charter School (FLACS). All as per plans filed herewith.
Per the plans, the ground floor will have a cafeteria, offices, a staff room, classroom space, entrance hall, lobby, and kitchen. The second floor will have storage and classroom space. The third floor will have offices and a conference room, classrooms and special education rooms. The fourth floor will have additional classrooms and special education rooms. The fifth floor will have offices and classrooms, while the sixth floor will have office space and a gym.
Partners For Architecture will be the architect.
Demolition plans have not been filed.
