New 36K sf Jewish day school in Riverdale receives TCO

Salanter Akiba Riverdale Academy, on September 10, was issued a temporary certificate of occupancy for construction of a 36,430-square-foot school building at 775 Rear West 254th Street in Riverdale, the Bronx.

The plans, pre-filed on May 14, 2018, call for the construction of a 61-foot tall, five-story building. The time from pre-file to TCO was two years and four months.

The project is described in the filings as: erecting new five-story school building.

The cellar of the building has a school lobby and a total of 105 parking spaces, according to the filing. The ground floor has classroom space and an additional lobby. Floors two and three are each comprised of classrooms, offices, and a lunch area. The fourth floor also has classrooms, an office, and a play area, while the roof provides a second play area.

The architect behind the project was Tom Winter Architects.

SAR Academy is a Modern Orthodox co-educational day school.
