Plans filed for construction of a 92-unit mixed-use building in Gowanus
On February 11, a permit application was filed for construction of a 92-unit, 68,808-square-foot mixed-use building at 159 3rd Avenue in Gowanus, Brooklyn.
The filing representative was listed as 159 Third Residence LLC. According to city records, the site has been owned by Asti Holding Corp. since the 1980s.
There have been 31 new building plans, including these plans, filed in Gowanus in the previous 12 months. The plans combined to call for the construction of 5,154 dwelling units in the neighborhood.
The plans call for the construction of a 123-foot-tall, 11-story building and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number B00678425. The development site spans one tax lot.
The project is described in the filing as: proposed 11-story mixed-use building total of 92 dwelling units.
Per the plans, the ground floor of the building will have one dwelling unit, recreation space, and mixed-use space. The second floor will have 10 dwelling units, floors three through five will each have 11 dwelling units per floor. The sixth floor will have recreation space and seven dwelling units. The seventh floor will have eight dwelling units, floors eight and nine will each have nine dwelling units, the 10th floor will have eight dwelling units, and the 11th floor will have seven dwelling units. The cellar will have recreation space.
