Marsh & McLennan complete $11.3M multi-floor rehab at 1166 Avenue of the Americas

On August 12, an $11.3 million rehabilitation of several floors owned by Marsh & McLennan at 1166 Avenue of the Americas in Grand Central was formally completed.

Owners with major stakes in the tower include RXR Realty, Edward J. Minskoff Equities, and Marsh & McLennan. The floors being worked on are owned by the Marsh & McLennan entities, which own floors 22 to 44.

The plans, pre-filed on April 19, 2019 by Marsh & McLennan, call for a rehab of floors 38 through 40 of the 573-foot tall, 44-story, building.

The project is described in the filings as: minor demolition with installation of new partitions, doors, suspended ceilings and finishes on the 38th, 39th and 40th floors (Marsh & McLennan restack) as per plans. No change to use, egress or occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $11,320,000.

The floors are occupied by Marsh & McLennan Companies, as part of their world headquarters.

In April, Marsh & McLennan entities were issued a TCO following a $1.2 million project to create public assembly meeting rooms on 39th and 40th floors.
