NYC files $5.9M plan including conversion from oil to gas at school in Rego Park
The city’s School Construction Authority, on August 11, filed a permit application for a $5.9 million project to change oil boilers to gas, among other rehabilitations of a school building at 62-10 108th Street in Rego Park, Queens.
The plans call for a rehab of the basement, roof, and floors one and two of the 33-foot tall, three-story, building.
The project is described in the filings as: Q220, replace (2) oil boilers with new gas-fired boilers. New stand alone DDC climate control system. New duplex vacuum pump, combustion air louvers and motorized dampers. Replace trap, strainers, thermostats, actuators and pneumatic control valve. Provide new waterproofing slab on top of existing slab in the boiler room. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $5,900,000.
On August 10, The NYC SCA received a TCO following the construction of a 31,673-square-foot school building at 15 A Fairfield Street in Staten Island. That same day, they completed rehab work at two other schools, combining for $2.5 million of work.
