Witkoff files plans for $10.5M multi-floor rehab of Park Lane Hotel in Central Park South

Witkoff Group, on November 5, filed a permit application for a $10.5 million rehabilitation of several floors of the Park Lane Hotel at 36 Central Park South in Central Park South.

The plans call for a rehab of floors 14 through 36 of the 445-foot tall, 44-story, building.

The project is described in the filings as: interior renovations as per plans filed herewith on floors 14th construction through 36th construction (17th through 39th marketing). No change to use, egress or occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $10.53 million.

PBDW Architects is the architect listed.

Last June, Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan Chase loaned the Witkoff Group $615 million to refinance the Park Lane Hotel. The building was impacted by the so-called 1MDB global financial scandal. One of the investors in the building was linked to a large global fraud case, but that stake was seized by the U.S. government and sold.

The property was acquired for $654.3 million on November 25, 2013.
