Wildflower Ltd. files first plans for 750K sf Astoria production studio

Wildflower Ltd, on May 8, filed a permit application for construction of what will eventually be a 750,000-square-foot film and video production studio. This initial filing indicates total construction of 144,000 square feet, with the address 35-15 19th Avenue in Astoria. Subsequent filings will provide the ultimate square feet.

The plans call for the construction of a 110-foot tall, 4-story, building.

The project is described in the filings as: filing herewith proposed four story warehouse/distribution center as indicated on plans.

B.I.G Architecture is listed as the architect. Wildflower is led by Adam I. Gordon.

The property was acquired for $71.6 million on January 30, 2020. Wildflower teamed up with Robert De Niro, Raphael De Niro and Jane Rosenfeld, with the help of a $56.5M loan from Ares Commercial, to complete the purchase. The joint venture planned to use one of the parcels acquired in the purchase to build a 650,000-square-foot facility dedicated to film, television, and augmented and virtual reality. The size of the project has grown to 750,000 square feet, according to a source familiar with the project.
