Vorea files plans for 499-unit mixed-use building in LIC
Peter Papamichael’s Vorea Group, on August 19, filed a permit application for construction of a 499-unit, 443,449-square-foot mixed-use building at 2-33 50th Avenue in Long Island City, Queens.
PincusCo broke news of the developer being in contract to buy the development site from Fortress Storage in October of last year.
The plans are the fourth largest new building plans filed this year, in terms of residential units, and second largest filed in Queens.
The developer also recently filed plans for construction of a 44,333-square-foot commercial building at 10-04 Borden Avenue, also in Long Island City.
The plans call for the construction of a 125-foot-tall, 12-story building and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number Q00564746. The development site spans one tax lot.
The project is described in the filing as: it is proposed to file for a new 12-story building as shown on plans.
According to the plans, the ground floor of the building will have community space, retail spaces, a residential lobby, courtyard, and game arcade. The second floor will have 57 dwelling units with multiple lounges and terraces. Floors three and four will also each have 57 dwelling units, along with an exercise room on the fourth floor. The remaining dwelling units will span floors four through 12.
