United Construction & Development Group receives TCO for 159-key hotel in Jamaica

Chris Jiashu Xu’s United Construction & Development Group, on December 17, was issued a temporary certificate of occupancy for construction of a 159-key, 65,400-square-foot hotel at 140-35 Queens Boulevard in Jamaica, Queens.

The plans, pre-filed on August 30, 2013, call for the construction of a 60-foot tall, six-story, hotel. The time from pre-filing to TCO was seven years and four months.

The project is described in the filings as: new building.

The building will have laundry, an exercise room, and 61 parking spaces, per the plans. The cellar will have 14 hotel rooms, a kitchen, lobby, eating and drinking establishment, meeting rooms, and a work room. The ground floor will have a lobby and 23 hotel rooms. Floors two through four will each have 30 rooms per floor, while floors five and six will each have 16 rooms per floor. The roof have a recreation space.

Raymond Chan Architect P.C. was behind the design.

The property was acquired for $4.7 million in July 2013.
