VAJA Group files plans for 72-unit mixed-use building in Highbridge

The VAJA Group, on March 13, filed a permit application for construction of a 72-unit, 56,397-square-foot mixed-use building at 978 Summit Avenue in Highbridge, Bronx. Moses Freund, managing partner at the VAJA Group, filed the plans.

There have been 14 new building plans, including these plans, filed in the Highbridge neighborhood in the previous 12 months.

The VAJA Group has been filing new building plans at a rapid rate recently. Since December of 2021, the developer has filed at least eight new building plans, calling for the construction of 423 dwelling units.

The latest plans call for the construction of a 137-foot-tall, 13-story building and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number X00695405.

The project is described in the filing as: proposed 13-story, mixed-use, height-factor building with 72 dwelling units.

Per the plan, the ground floor of the building will have recreation space, parking, retail space, and a lobby. The second floor will have offices and six dwelling units. Floors three through 13 will also each have 13 dwelling units per floor. The roof will have recreation space.

The architect listed is S. Wieder Architect P.C.

The property was acquired for $3.4 million on September 24, 2019.
