Tara Singh files plans for 7K sf retail, residential building in Richmond Hill

Tara Singh, on July 27, filed a permit application for construction of a six-unit, 7,471-square-foot building with retail on the ground floor at 97-37 116th Street in Richmond Hill.

The plans call for the construction of a 43-foot tall, four-story, retail building with six residential units.

The project is described in the filings as: mixed-used property, one retail store and community facility on first floor, and total of six residential units from first floor through fourth floor.

The ground floor of the building would be split between a retail store, community facility and a handicap accessible dwelling unit, according to the plans. Floors two and three would each have two dwelling units, while the fourth floor would have one.
The property was acquired for $1.2 million on June 24, 2013.

Umar Shah of BCD Consultant is listed as the architect on the filing.

Plans for the new development were first filed back in February of 2018 but were ultimately disapproved. The following year, in March of 2019, plans were again filed, and once again they were disapproved. Only July 3, Singh filed plans yet again, before withdrawing them on July 27 and then filing again that same day.
