Tankhouse, on February 11, received a permit for construction of a 27-unit, 36,191-square-foot residential building at 9 Chapel Street in Dumbo. The owner representative on the filing was Sebastian Mendez, Tankhouse founder. The development’s address was previously listed as 219 Jay Street

There have been two new building plans filed in Dumbo in the previous 12 months.
The plans, pre-filed on December 29, 2020, call for the construction of a 130-foot tall, 13-story, 36,191-square-foot residential building with 27 residential units.
Per the plans, floors one through six of the building will each have three dwelling units per floor. Floors seven through 10 will each have two dwelling units per floor, and floors 11 and 12 will each have one dwelling unit. The roof will have recreation space. The cellar will have a lobby and recreation spaces.
The property was acquired for $12.5 million on November 5, 2020.
Kane Architecture and Urban Design is listed as the architect.
