Storage Deluxe permitted for 160K sf storage building in East Williamsburg

Storage Deluxe, on April 5, was given a permit for construction of a 160,000-square-foot storage building at 1 Harrison Place in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Chris Lynch, director of development at Storage Deluxe, filed the plans.

The permits were new building and foundation permits.

The plans, pre-filed on December 6, 2019, call for the construction of an 87-foot-tall, seven-story building.

According to the plans, all seven floors of the building will be used for storage space. The ground floor will also have office space.

Butz Wilbern Ltd. is listed as the architect.

The property was acquired for $45.5 million on May 8, 2019.

In February CubeSmart paid Storage Deluxe $90 million for 31-40 and 31-50 Whitestone Expressway in Queens. The deal was a portion of an announced transaction valued at $540 million. At the time of the sale, Storage Deluxe had sold CubeSmart eight properties for a total of $511 million.
