Stagg Group fully permitted for 54-unit resi building at recently acquired University Heights property
Mark Stagg’s Stagg Group, on October 2, was given a new building (NB) permit for construction of a 54-unit, 41,880-square-foot residential building at 140 West Fordham Road in University Heights. The developer purchased the property, which has 2332 Loring Place as a secondary address, for just shy of $3 million on March 9, 2020.
The plans, pre-filed on March 13, 2020, call for the construction of a 72-foot tall, seven-story residential building. Jay Martino, Stagg senior vice president of construction, was the owner representative on the filing.
The project is described in the filings as: erection of seven-story residential building.
According to the plans, the cellar will have a gym and laundry room as well as 2,451-square-feet of indoor parking for six vehicles. The ground floor will provide an additional 2,432-square-feet of attended indoor parking for eight vehicles, 2,436-square-feet of attended outdoor parking for 14 vehicles, a recreation area, mailroom, and residential lobby. Floors two through seven will each have nine dwelling units per floor.
Marin Architects is behind the building’s design.
Reports around the time of filing stated it was uncertain when the project would be completed.
Demolition plans were filed for the single-story structure which occupied the property in April. Those plans were permitted in early August and completed on August 18, clearing the way for the development to begin.
