Solomon Feder permitted for 171-unit mixed-use building in East Flatbush

Solomon Feder, on February 9, received a permit for construction of a 171-unit, 130,855-square-foot mixed-use building at 1640 Flatbush Avenue in East Flatbush.

In the previous 12 months there have been 38 new building plans filed in the neighborhood.

The plans, pre-filed on July 6, 2020, call for the construction of a 145-foot tall, 13-story, 130,855-square-foot residential building with 171 residential units.

The project is described in the filings as: multi-story residential building.

Per the plans, the ground floor of the building will have a residential lobby and retail. The second floor will have parking. The third floor will have 16 dwelling units. Floors four through eight will each have 18 dwelling units per floor, the ninth floor will have 16 dwelling units, the 10th floor will have a terrace and 14 dwelling units, floors 11 and 12 will each have 14 dwelling units per floor. Finally, the 13th floor will have seven dwelling units, recreation space, an exercise room, a theater, a pet spa, and a. conference room. The roof will have recreation space and the cellar will have retail space.

Demolition plans were filed in September of 2019 for the two-story commercial building on the property.

The property was acquired for $16.1 million on December 30, 2019.
