Savanna receives TCO for 75K sf office building in Midtown West

Savanna Fund, on December 18, was issued a temporary certificate of occupancy for construction of a 75,083-square-foot office building at 106 West 56th Street, just south of Billionaires’ Row, in Midtown West. The firm is typically known for its investments existing buildings, as opposed to ground-up developments.

The plans, pre-filed on March 28, 2017, call for the construction of a 402-foot tall, 27-story office building. The time from pre-file to TCO was three years and nine months.

The project is described in the filings as: new building filing floors 1 through 27, cellar and roof as per plans filed herewith.

The building’s cellar has conference rooms, per the plans. Each of the floors will be used for office space. The building also has a lobby and several terraces located on floors two, seven, 13, 16, 19, and 26.

Perkins Eastman designed the building, which was originally planned to be completed in 2019.

In a past interview, Andrew Kurd of Savanna Fund said the building would be tailored to high-net-worth individuals, small private-equity firms and family wealth-management offices

The property was acquired for $48.7 million on February 12, 2016.
