Rolex files plans for demo of 122K sf 665 5th Ave ahead of 155K sf commercial office development
The watchmaking company Rolex, on August 6, filed a permit application for the demolition of its 122,596-square-foot building at 665 Fifth Avenue in the Plaza District.
The demolition will clear the 11,050-square-foot site for the construction of a 419-foot tall, 28-story, 155,883-square-foot commercial office building, which plans were filed for in late June.
Per the plans, the ground floor of the building will have a lobby, security office, reception area, retail store, and retail entrance. The second floor will have a private eating and drinking establishment, office, and cafe. The third floor will have a retail gallery. Floors four through 24 will be used for office space. The fourth floor will also have retail space. The building will have several terraces.
The plans call for the demolition of a 12-story building.
The project is described in the filings as: full demolition of 12-story building using partial mechanical means.
