Permit for 23K sf commercial building in East Williamsburg
On April 8, a permit was given for construction of a 23,832-square-foot commercial building at 53 Scott Avenue in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
The permits are both foundation and new building permits.
Pamela Gaslow of Erika Warehouse Corp. filed the plans before the property was sold to Thomas Ta for $5.1 million in October of last year. The Gaslow family had owned the property since 1980.
The plans, pre-filed on February 21, 2020, call for the construction of a 97-foot tall, five-story building.
The project is described in the filings as: proposed new four-story commercial building.
According to the plans, the ground floor of the building will have grocery store space, a loading berth, and parking for 16 cars. The second floor will have parking for an additional 34 cars. Floors three and four will be used for clothing manufacturing. The roof will have a restaurant.
Inca Architecture is listed as the architect.
The demolition of the single-story building that previously occupied the site was completed last month.
The property was acquired for $5 million on August 20, 2020.
