NYU files plans for a $36M rehab of dormitory in Greenwich Village
New York University, on January 21, filed plans for a $36 million rehabilitation of a dorm building at 35 Fifth Avenue in Greenwich Village, Manhattan.
The building, which is known as the Samuel Rubin Residence Hall of New York University, was formerly the Hotel Grosvenor. The building is named after prominent philanthropist Samuel Rubin, a member of NYU’s Medical Center Board.
The plans call for work on all floors of the 165-foot-tall, 15-story building and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number M00635716.
The project is described in the filing as: Interior modifications as per shown in plans filed herewith. No change in occupancy, egress, or use.
