NYCHA inks 20-year lease extension at 250 Broadway, contrary to 2017 plans

The New York City Housing Authority signed a 20-year lease extension with AmTrust Realty, a division of the public company AmTrust Financial, through its 250 Broadway Owner LLC, for space in 250 Broadway in Tribeca. The memorandum of lease was signed on December 31, 2019, and was recorded on February 19, 2020.

NYCHA has opted to remain at 250 Broadway, where it has been a tenant since the 1960s, rather than relocate its headquarters to 90 Church Street, as the agency announced it would do in 2017. The extension runs for 20 years until 2039, and includes the right of first offer on the 8th and 14th floors. The agency occupies the entire 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th floors and a portion of the sub-cellar.

Over the past five years, there have been 6 NYC Department of Buildings permit applications filed for this parcel valued at more than $20,000. There were 6 renovation/alteration projects (A2) applied for with a total estimated value of $848,200.
